The Right Approach - Bowlers Pro Shop was founded by 4-Time Hall of Famer Mary Mohacsi and her son Mark on July 16, 1980.

The following year, 1981, we started Gama Products, Inc.  with fellow bowler Gordon Libby.  Our intention was to make products to sell to Pro Shops that were used behind the scenes - plug dams, cork inserts, sanding discs...  Our first mass release of a run of Gama Dams did not sell well.  In spite of handing out free samples, pro shops were unwilling to switch brands.  So Gama Products died quickly as our primary product did not sell through.

Onward and upward to Southfield to start another retail operation.  The original Pocket Pro Shop was born in 1983.  Fellow bowler John Dombrowski teamed with Mark for this operation.  The store was located inside of Ark Lanes West.  This was in the Corridor of the Northwestern Highway High Rent District.  The Watson Wyatt stands there today.  Through this operation, Bowling Wholesalers was started.  John took over Bowling Wholesalers and Hall of Famer Dale Seavoy took over Pocket Pro Shop for John.

Bowling Wholesalers supplied Bowling Pro Shops with merchandise for resale.  The Company had three salesman.  It was doomed from the beginning though because of excess competition.  Five distributors serving a market where there was only room for one.  As the physical plant of the building was demolished in the name of progress for the "Wyatt," so were Pocket Pro Shop and Bowling Wholesalers.

Not to be complacent, Mark finished his degree from the University of Michigan - Dearborn in 1984.  Things went relatively smoothly as the demise of Pocket Pro Shop found the birth of O.K. Bowling and Trophy Corral inside of Bronco Lanes.  Hall of Famer Terry Grant managed that location.  Soon, O.K. Bowling was moved from the 32 lane Bronco Lanes to the larger 44 laner, Bonanza Lanes.

In 1988 there were two new entities to contend with, Envy Lawn Service and a reborn Pocket Pro Shop (now in Taylor Lanes).  Due to health reasons, Mark closed the Taylor Store ten years after its birth. Due to health reasons, at age 75, Mary could not continue the full time operation of OK Bowling so in June of 2007, Community Bowling indicated to Mary and Mark Mohacsi that OK Bowling did not have hours of operation to their liking, and Roger Philipi told Mary and Mark that they were not welcome to host the pro shop in Bonanza Lanes any more.  Mary and Mark wish them luck in their new endeavor.

Today, still alive and well are Envy Lawn, and the original store in Merri-Bowl, The Right Approach - Bowlers Pro Shop.

The Right Approach is a Charter Member of the International Bowling Pro Shop and Instructors Association.  The lawn care company, Envy Lawn Service, Incorporated is licensed to operate out of the City of Livonia, Michigan.
